Flower Plates

My latest fun thing to do is to shop for cast off dishes to create fun whimsey's for the garden and table.

Here are a couple of plate flowers I've made recently.

 Hung on lattice

Thinking about making flower plates makes thrift shopping even more fun.
Learning to wield a calk gun..ummm not so fun.

Here is mine in the garden:

It's firmly positioned on a pole that is hidden in the bush itself.  I like them to be seen when you turn a corner or in some unexpected way.  If you remember the colorful houses blog I did, and I've linked you to it, I am recreating this in a small way that will fit into any lifestyle.  You can have as many or few plate flowers as you like.

I've posted at
and at the links you'll find along the right side!

Came over from Barbe's to see the plate project. They are just perfect for what I want to do in my front garden. The problem: for some reason plates at the local thrift shops have gone from fifty cents to three dollars and up!

These are fabulous! Love them. I can't decide which one I like the best. Thank you for sharing this at the Make it Pretty Monday party at The Dedicated House. Hope to see your prettiness again on Monday. Toodles, Kathryn @TheDedicatedHouse
Absolutely love plates and you have certainly found a very creative way to use them. Don't know which one I like best. It's brought vintageness to your garden. I'm a graduate of Debbie's Newbie party, so was wondering would you share this adorable flower plate at Sunday's Best this evening. Sure hope so, to darn creative not to share!

If you have a minute (after you get back from Disney....) would you let me know what adhesive you used on these dish "flowers"? This is where I always get lost - knowing what to use to withstand weather.

Yours are SO beautiful! Thanks SO much & have fun!
