Lately, I'm so busy I haven't had time to blog but here is a quick mishmash of my activities! Etegami The motto of Etegami is:  It's fine to be clumsy. Well that suits me just fine because I am not a perfectionist in any way.  Above is an Etegami postcard I sent my daughter in law.  Mistakes and all.  I saw this and loved it.   It seems that I have been taking a zillion pictures lately! Including a selfie or two!! Pocket letters!  I'm all about pocket letters. Here is one I received!  With bonus stuff! Perfect for my Pink Saturday offering! It came in the mail in a large envelope decorated with stickers and had some  bonus cards and a note pad!  Here is the actual pocket letter with a beach theme. The back side had goodies enclosed! I always enjoy attending a caching event.  It's fun to catch up with new and old(ish) friends and share tales of our adventures while out geocaching.   Yesterday the event was held at the Thirsty Marlin in Palm Harbor. A photo of one of our hosts, was Wild Rice (her geocaching name)!  She co-hosted with Gray Wolf, her husband.  For the uninitiated, geocaching is a world wide GPS game where we are hunting out hidden containers that hold a log book and sometimes fun objects like coins, toys, etc.  Once you find the container (cache) you sign the log book as proof and then enter your find on the website. It's really a lot of fun.  Here are some of the guests and there were perhaps a dozen more I didn't get.  The groups are usually small and  very friendly.   One of the guests was able to claim her 2,000th find here today!  It puts my paltry 315 to shame as I have been involved since April of 2009.  I ...

Geocaching* in Mexico While cruising my phone is off limits except when in Wifi areas so doing a little geocaching takes planning ahead of time.   I used to use my hand held GPS but my phone is so much easier that I now rely on it exclusively.  Internationally though it is quite a challenge.   The first thing I do before I leave is to look over the areas I plan to spend time in to see how many geocaches are located in the area.  This one happened to be located near a restaurant I had been to on my last trip to Cozumel!!   It was right there at the dock.  But where might the actual cache be located?  I had saved a few photos in my phone of  the cache page to assist me while looking.   This time I happened to spot the statue first and remembered it as the location. This statue had been in almost all the photographs as being the location of the cache.   Something large like this something I could locate visual...

This is how I roll.....  I happened upon it because of geocaching, which I learned is a great way to really see a city.   We were walking in the downtown area of Nassau, looking for three different caches.  I was with my sister Karan and her grandchildren, Lucy and Jack and we had somewhat successfully found the first one.  More on that in another post.   We even did a No-No by stopping at a Bahamian McDonald's for a cold drink It was very hot, it was June after all, and the children (who were aged 8 and 9) were anxious to find the next cache but I was lost without my GPS and eventually they went on back to the ship to swim.
