This was so fun to do!  It's not pink but this is fall! Sharing with  Pink Saturday!

There was a request for a swap for a Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn Pocket letter and I was lucky enough to get the Autumn one!  I've been dying to do one for the fall, not that I'm tired of Easter Bunnies, Leprechauns and spring flowers!  I'm not!  I'm looking forward to receiving some beautiful springy PL's!   But I just had a hankering to do a fall one. I immediately stamped out some cute witches, pumpkins and owls.  I looked forward to diving into my Thanksgiving stuff I had acquired in anticipation.....but you never know where the journey will take you when you begin creating.   What is Fall?  It's back to school, Thanksgiving, w itches and goblins and hunting season. It's colorful leaves and nuts and berries, rich browns, oranges and maroons.  It's apple season.   Can you pick out the pockets that represent the various categories?  I hope she likes it.  I really enjoyed putting it together!...

Oh my goodness, we had a lovely day in Tampa at Busch Gardens!  We had been meaning to go since September but life got in the way...or was it laziness?   Yes, it's Fall, but while taking the skyway I spotted this gorgeous pink tree!   Perhaps you know what it is that blooms pink in November  but I have not seen one anywhere else and I don't have any idea what kind of tree it is.   As soon as I got off the skyway ride I hurried over to see it!  It is still 80 degrees most days.  Look, people mostly wear shorts and tee shirts.  I love Florida!  What a pretty view this was! It was dripping blossoms into a sweet little pond where you guide boats by remote control.  The gator looks a little less vicious with pink blossoms all around him.  Why do seasons have to change in the middle of the month?  It's disconcerting to have September roll around and there are three more weeks of summer that everyone just ignores.  Woe to the child who starts back to school in the middle of August.  Wearing fall clothing, sharpening pencils, sitting in rooms decorated in fall leaves and pumpkins and it's smack in the middle of summer.  That child should be at the beach! Then Thanksgiving rolls around that signals an end to Autumn.  Of course it does.  We have had three full months of apples, pumpkin spice lattes and brilliant fall color.  Christmas is frighteningly close and Christmas is Winter.  So chuck out the turkey and pilgrims and embrace WINTER!  Snow scenes and Santas.  Sleighs swooshing through a forest of bare trees.  Hot chocolate, hot rum and chilled eggnog emerge.  Skiing and sledding abound until cupids, hothouse roses and sweetheart c...

It's unofficially fall because school is back in session.  Yesterday the children of Pasco County Florida officially returned to their classrooms.  I'm still overjoyed each fall that I am not among them.  Routine is the bane of my life and my free spirit chafes at being anywhere at 8:00 AM, let alone having to be there five days a week. It's still summer according to the calander, and not only that, it's only halfway into the season.  I have never gotten used to children returning to school mid summer, we always returned the day after Labor Day.  September is autumn, yes, late September but lets not quibble about the dates. With all the back to school hoopla, television and newspaper ads, video clips of busses trundling around and dire warnings to motorists, I feel fall-ish and celebrated by purchasing..well thrifting...my official mug for autumn 2012.  The pumpkin color is perfect.  I appreciate the subtle art design, one I won't tire of....
