I have many plans in my head for the upcoming year. Jan 1st starting off the year geocaching and Dianne came with me! There were a lot of shadows on this sunny day!  The first objective of 2016 was getting home safely.  It's a long drive by myself from Ohio.  I go out of my way a bit to drive to Shelly's in North Caroline from Ohio and stay a day or so before continuing on.  So it is two days of eight plus hours depending on how often I stop.  I made it home a few days ago and now must unpack and regroup.  I do like a good road trip! This time I did some geocaching along the way home.  Overall I found eight caches in different rest areas and near gas stations.  I don't go out of my way to drive to get to any, but if one is within five hundred feet, I will take time to find it, sign the log and take a picture.  It's a great way to get a little exercise while on a road trip.  My sister and I decided to take our mother to Disney World for her 87th birthday Karan and I Mom is the mother of four, grandmother of twelve and great grandmother of 31  (and two more on the way!) We all call her GG The wheelchair was essential! We decided that since GG needed to bring her wheelchair, she wouldn't have to walk the park. She could really enjoy herself and not get too tired.  Tip:  We made sure she got up and walked a few steps here and there to keep the circulation going in her legs since she normally uses a walker at home.      We booked a room at the All Star Music Resort.  She was treated like Royalty! She was given a birthday balloon, a birthday pin and a balloon Mickey Mouse made just for her! Booking a resort was best. Disney World is now getting dressed for Christmas, but when I went last week, I enjoyed the Fall flowers tremendously. Black Eyed Susan's are a favorite of mine!   These were in Frontierland and I noticed them in front of me as I rocked in an available rocking chair on the wooden sidewalk Packed with shades of color!  I did catch in the photo (up in the corner), a glimpse of my rocking friend who was allowing her grandchild a nap in the middle of the afternoon.   A strolling band came by and began playing.  It was nice to have the time to really enjoy them.  The baby slept through it all.  Sharing with Monday Mellow Yellows Sundays in My City Our World Tuesday

Disney offers wonderful tours of all three restaurants to anyone who is visiting Animal Kingdom Lodge or who are staying there. There is no registration and no need to call ahead for a reservation.   Just gather here in the lobby of the Boma Restaurant here on the first floor.  Tours are given daily at 3:45 I recommend a mid week tour as the group tends to be smaller.               The fabric overhead in the photo above, is African. It represents the cloth used for different tribes. Behind the colorful pole is a replica of Victoria Falls. Be sure to have a quarter handy to toss in, all change is collected  and donated to African children.  Each item is carefully chosen to represent Africa, like the clay pot pillars and shingled roofs Here the ceiling is a replica of the design of the huts in African villages and  lights that represent the spectacular sunrises and sunsets ...

I have a few days in between traveling and wanted to jump in and post.  I have so many things to show and tell!   How cute is this?  We went to Mount Dora in central Florida as part of a extended weekend and I spotted this trolley just as we were leaving.  The train was under renovation and so we will be going back when it's back in service.  Now this cute trolley will be on the list of things to do!  Mickey's Christmas Party was one of our destination's.  The whole Magic Kingdom was lit up festively!  All the trees in the park were lit up red and green! These were in Tomorrowland.   The Grand Floridian needs no decorating as it's already Christmassy with the red accents and green lawns and trees but the masses of poinsettias everywhere were simply beautiful!    Our trip ended with lovely fireworks seen from the Grand Floridian across the lake.  See the tiny purple dot?  That is Ci...

The Boardwalk at Disney World is something we discovered for the first time last week.  It is something like  a smaller scale Downtown Disney but it's a resort hotel with condominiums as well.   As with the Grand Floridian, the period is Victorian.  You are whisked to Atlantic City, NJ when you step through the doors onto the old boardwalk.  The foyer at The Boardwalk Inn Just through the foyer is a small lobby, the light fixture overhead is prancing carousel horse/mermaids.   The theme is followed through with the circular lobby bench below it is boasting a carousel that was handcrafted in 1920 at Cony Island.  The resort was decorated for Christmas with enormous swags everywhere and huge decorated trees.  The gingerbread gazebo was spicy and fragrant with Donald Duck coming out of the chimney.  A carousel elephant decorated the huge mantle. \  A life size gingerbread house also w...
