A New Kind of Hostess Gift
I love putting together a whimsey with my hostess right there choosing her dishes. It's a great way of showing your appreciation for the visit. This one was intended for her beautiful back garden. The special thing about a garden whimsy is, no one has another like it. While she was at work, I scoured the thrift shops for fun dishes that complimented each other. I always choose dishes safe for food even if I plan to make a garden whimsey. Who knows? It might turn into a tidbit tray. First I placed all the dishes I purchased out on the kitchen table that I had covered with newspaper. Each dish had been washed and all tags removed. We then had a fun time putting different dishes together until we decided on the combination she liked best.
